Crossfit, Take 2

admin · June 10, 2011 · 3 Comments

To get new workout ideas, I skimmed some of my old blog posts yesterday. I felt like around winter time, I was really taking a beating during the workouts I did, so I wanted to bring some of that back. I found a sweet Crossfit routine that sounded really hard and that I actually clearly remember doing. Turns out, it was really hard.

The original workout says to do this circuit 5 times. We got to three and called it a day. I’ve actually done the five rounds before but I wouldn’t really classify it as Crossfit style. With Crossfit, you’re supposed to do the exercises as fast as you can. After a million burpees…I definitely slow down a bit. Here was the routine we did yesterday:

Crossfit- 5 Rounds (we did three!)

  • 22 Kettle-bell Swings- We used free weights. I used a 15lb. weight.
  • 22 Jump Squats- This was actually supposed to be jumps on a box or bench but we didn’t have one around. I’m pretty sure the jump squats are equally as hard!
  • Run 400 meters
  • 22 Burpees
  • 22 Wall-Balls- I used a 12lb. medicine ball. We were technically supposed to use a 20lb. ball but my gym doesn’t have one!

I definitely felt “worked out” by the end of three rounds. My legs are plenty sore today so I don’t think it was a waste of time! If you’re feeling extra energized or strong these days, you should definitely go for 5!

Have you ever tried Crossfit? Did you like it?

I love crossfit, I talk about it on my blog a lot! I’m from Dallas and found a gym that does it close to my house! I always feel like a man when I’m done ๐Ÿ™‚
