Yesterday, the hubs and I tackled a major full body workout! I’ve been creepin’ around lately on One Fit Foodie’s blog because she has some insane workouts! She would know too, she competed in a fitness competition not too long ago so I trust her workouts are the real deal.
As I’ve mentioned before, I love workouts that incorporate cardio and strength training. She had a few listed on her website, but one in particular caught my eye. Here’s what we did:
We did 2 rounds of this circuit. If you’re feeling like a badass you can absolutely do 3!
We warmed up with a short jog around the track then dove right in!
- 15 pushups (not on your knees if you can help it!)
- 30 seconds of high knees (sort of running in place except bringing your knees up towards your chest as far as you can) followed by 30 seconds of butt kicks (running in place again, except kicking your butt).
- 8 Front Raises followed by 8 Lateral Raises-I used an 8lb. weight
- Jumping Jacks for 1 minute
- 15 hammer curls-I used 12lb. weight
- 15 jumping lunges– one of the worst! So hard!
- 10sย triceps dips on the floor followed by 5 more with one leg off the ground, then 5 more with the other leg off.
- Mountain Climbers for 40 seconds
- Plank punches– in full plank position (hands on the floor), punch one arm out to shoulder height, then switch and punch out the other arm. We did 10 on each side.
- 15 plie squats with vertical row– I used 12lb. weights for this.
- high knees for 30 seconds
- 8 rear delt fly’s followed by 8 back row’s-I used 8lb weights for these.
- 20 squats with side leg lifts (alternating sides).
It was definitely a tough workout! I love it though! Love to feel sore the next day!
We’re going out of town again tomorrow to Colorado. I’m pretty excited, the weather there will be perfect and it’s so beautiful! I’m planning on bringing my workout clothes so hopefully I can at least get in some runs while we’re there.
Do you workout when you’re on vacation? Or take a vacation from exercise?

I work out on vacation since I love to work out. Usually my family goes to Mammoth, CA and we do lots of hiking and stuff as well. Have fun in Colorado!

Sometimes I like to workout when I’m on vacation, but I usually just try to be more active — lots of walking and swimming.

That workout routine looks great…think I’ll be copying that at home when I can’t get childcare to go to the gym ๐
When I’m on holiday I like to swim rather than go to the gym etc. Having a pool at the hotel is ideal, but swimming in the sea, so long as it’s not too cold, is good too! Plus I always do loads of walking so tell myself that counts as enough exercise!! ๐

I always try to work out while I am on vacation but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. A run is usually my go-to exercise since all you need is your shoes, workout clothes, and the road/beach!

The place you are staying in Eagle, Colorado is a great area for running, biking or whatever. It is super for outdoor activities and I’m hoping you’ll like it. Great place for us to come visit you. L, Mom
