High Protein Snacks

admin · February 13, 2012 · 4 Comments

I am definitely a snacker, or should I say, grazer. I also eat full meals so I’m not sure what that would be called…just someone who eats a lot? Really hungry girl? I don’t know. I do know that I enjoy my snacks. I’ve talked about bars I eat before (Lara bars, Luna, Kind, etc). but I don’t always want to rely on bars.

I find it really difficult to snack on things that are not pure carbohydrates. Carbs are just so convenient it’s really easy to choose them over other snacks. Protein powder makes healthy snacks pretty easy. Here are some high protein snacks I like to make:

Chocolate Protein Pancakes

Schweddy Balls– These are seriously amazing and if you understand the name, you are awesome. (If not, there’s a link to the video on that post…watch it!).

Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake

Chocolate Protein Muffin– You can substitute coconut flour for wheat flour and pumpkin for applesauce.

Almond Butter Whey Cookies

Chocolate Banana Pancakes

Chocolate Covered Banana Ice Cream– This is really tasty too! Great substitute for ice cream.

Those are just a couple healthy, high protein snack ideas. I love trying to find new ones so I’ll be on the lookout for you guys.

In other news, I just got back from the doctor. I had to get some blood work done (everything is fine) but it was the weirdest experience. I’ve had blood taken before but I fainted today! That has never happened to me. I think they took a fair amount of blood so I believe that’s why, but it was so weird. All I remember was feeling super light headed then the next thing I knew, a nurse was waking me up. When I woke up, I had no idea what was going on or where I was. I was sweating like crazy it was kind of scary! But everything’s fine :).

Have you ever fainted when giving blood? Scary!

I’ve tried to donate blood two times in my life and both times I passed out cold. I’ve never passed out from a blood draw at a dr’s office though, I’m glad you are ok! It is really scary!!!
