After an incredibly long trip (and early morning-waking up at 4!), I am officially in California. The weather’s not terrific here, but I definitely can’t complain. Cliff and I were the first to arrive…last night the New Mexico grandparents came in…and tomorrow my brother and sister in law.
We walked through the door Monday to the amazing smell of homemade cookies. Turns out, those weren’t the only goodies cookin’ around here!
There’s definitely not a shortage of sweets around here! I have to say, self control is not my strongest suit. But hey, it’s the holidays…so yes, I am absolutely going to enjoy these goodies!
So far, it’s been a great trip. Today, we finished up our Christmas shopping….we just have some wrapping and then we’re ready for Christmas!
As far as exercise goes, I have been able to get some running in. Yesterday, I ran about 4 miles (my nike plus wasn’t working…of course so it’s an estimate). Today, I attempted a run outside but it was just a little too wet and cold…so I continued my run inside on the treadmill. I’m guessing I ran about 2. 7 miles total. Not the best, but at least it’s something!
I can’t believe Christmas is so soon! This is my first away from home…so it’s a little different….but I absolutely love my in laws so it’s going to be a great holiday!
