So, today I was incredibly sore from the Spartacus workout I did yesterday. My legs are the kind of sore that makes it hard to sit down…both because squatting is unbearable…and sitting on my buns for too long is painful. So, I guess the workout was a success! Today, I took things a little easier. I went for a 35 minute run (about 3.5 miles) on the Katy Trail in the beautiful 64 degree weather and burned around 330 calories.
After the workout, I was craving something a little “fall-ish,” even though I’m pretty sure it’s winter? I decided to blend up a pumpkin smoothie. I’ve never made this before so it was loosely based off of several smoothie recipes I read online…and whatever ingredients I could find in the kitchen. Here was my original plan:
- nonfat milk
- canned pumpkin
- dash of nutmeg
- dash of cinnamon
- ice cubes
- dash of honey
After the first taste test…I decided it wasn’t quite sweet enough. So I added about a half a banana and a little splenda. Second time around, the smoothie was pretty tasty! It definitely hit the spot on a (kind of warm) December day!
