The weather here in Cleveland has been less than perfect these past few days. The rain has not stopped and yesterday it was in the 40’s! I was having flashbacks of living in Chicago….is it not the middle of May right now? Where is the sun? And the heat? They’re actually installing an air conditioner into our place right now so I guess they’re optimistic about the weather.
Since I’m still looking for a job and searching for the meaning of life…I felt a little claustrophobic yesterday after hours of staring at the computer. So, in the rain, I headed out for a run. It’s nice to just go for a run when I want and not worry about the pace or distance. I just wanted to get outside and move a little bit. So, I did just that.
- Distance: 2.49 miles
- Time: 21:34 min/sec
- Pace: 8:40 min/sec
- Calories: 200
Not too shabby for a mid-day run. Later in the day we headed to the gym for my next workout! I felt like a machine-2 workout in one day! Bring it on!
We chose a Crossfit and actually altered it a little because neither one of us are body builders. We realized this once we started the 70 pull-ups (ha!). I did oh like, 4 and was done. So, we decided to do 70 rows instead. Here was the workout:
We performed each exercise 7 times, with 10 reps each time.
- Wall Balls
- Rows (supposed to be pull-ups)
I used a 12lb. medicine ball for the wall balls (hubby used 10..ha!) and it was definitely challenging. I think it’s worth using the heavier ball otherwise it’s a little too easy. The original workout says to use a 20lb. ball but my gym doesn’t even have a 20lb. ball. That definitely would have been tough!
Today is another not-so-nice day in the Cleve, so maybe I’ll go for another run outside. I took that Dallas sun for granted!
In other news, I’ve definitely caught the baking bug. I’ll post more on that yumminess later :).
