Basically every time I see something appealing, whether it’s shoes (a la Carrie Bradshaw) or food (a la me), I like to start our conversation out with a friendly greeting: hello, lover. This of course, is taken from an episode of Sex and the City where Carrie addresses a nice pair of shoes this way. It can be applied to anything really…today it was Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups.
I’m sure most of you have heard of or tried Justin’s nut butter’s. They offer a pretty nice variety of butters from peanut in classic, honey, and chocolate flavors to almond butters and hazelnut chocolate butter. They use high quality, organic ingredients ensuring great flavor every time.
They were nice enough to send me a couple samples of their newest addition to the lineup: peanut butter cups! How could you not love peanut butter cups? Especially when they’re made with amazing peanut butter. I love too that they have a dark chocolate and a milk chocolate cup. Dark chocolate is my favorite so I was excited when I opened these!
These tasted exactly how I thought they would: amazing. I wish there were more in a pack!
I love the simple ingredients list too, it’s short and sweet:
- Organic dark chocolate, organic peanut butter, organic evaporated cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, organic vanilla flavor, sea salt.
I’m curious to see how these peanut butter cups do. Obviously, these will be a little “higher end” than your standard Reese’s peanut butter cup so it’ll be interesting to see if indeed people do want higher quality sweets, or if they could care less. Obviously, I’m sure the general market could care less, but clearly there’s a demand for higher quality peanut butters, so we’ll see!
My husband brought up a good point yesterday when we were trying these. He looked at the nutrition facts and proclaimed, “these aren’t healthy for you!” And I said, “Well, yea, they’re still a sweet/candy. Just because they’re organic doesn’t mean they don’t have sugar or fat.” It’s so much nicer to just think, “well, it’s organic so it’s good for me!” That’s partially true, but eating organic cookies all day doesn’t mean you won’t pack on the lb’s. I’m sure most of you know that, but it’s just so much more fun to forget that and have at it!
That being said, I thought these were awesome. Peanut butter and chocolate is a great combo…kinda like peanut butter and jelly..or peanut butter and anything. It’s even better when the ingredients are of good quality and organic. I think Justin’s did a fine job on this one. I still have one left…hello, lover.. :).
In other news, I’m big time now…have you not heard? I ordered business cards! That’s right…apparently, I have a business! I mean, not technically, but I do have a card with my name on it. So, basically I’m a big deal :).
Here’s the back…wait for it…wait for it…
I was gonna put a huge picture of my face..but thought I’d go with a more subtle look. Hope you guys like them!
I was also lucky enough to receive a special package from Emily over at Emily (In Progress). She sent me her new business card, along with an awesome magnet (I always want magnets..but where do you buy them? So random!), chapstick, a Lara bar, and a sweet note.
So, ya the card is facing down. I just realized I only took pictures of it straight on so I’d be showing the world her phone number and email address. I’d feel kinda bad if she started to get harassed. So this is basically a sneak peak of her card…just imagine what the other side looks like…so nice! She must have known I was on a budget since she sent me a Lara bar. Thanks Emily, every bit counts :).
If you’re a blogger, do you have a business card for your blog?
Do you buy “higher end” candy or sweets? Or just stick to the old standbys?

I cannot find the percentage of dark chocolate in Justin’s peanut butter cups.Does anyone know what this is? To me, the health benefits depend on the percentage of dark chocolate.

I’m not sure what it is. I would definitely consider this a treat though. It’s delicious, so I’m assuming it’s not super high % of dark chocolate. It’s not that bitter.

The dark chocolate is the first ingredient, so it’s the largest in quantity… I love these & had the dark chocolate ones last night. My only issue with them is the palm fruit oil, despite claiming it’s sustainable since I don’t know if it’s from Indonesia. (Ie where orangutans live)
Sorry to be a buzz kill but the expression is *couldn’t care less* which means one couldn’t care any lesser than nothing. Could care less implies one can still care less.
