Walking Lunge Laps

admin · June 22, 2011 · 4 Comments

We tackled yet another CrossFit yesterday. I like to go on CrossFit’s website and randomly pick a workout from their archives. I find a lot of their workouts to be the same, but that might just be because I can only do a handful of the exercises. I guess that’s their thing though: repetitive workouts that might be easy if you do, for example, 3 sets of 10, but 4 rounds of 15 makes it a lot harder! Let’s just say I was over sit ups by the end of this workout.

CrossFit Workout- 4 Rounds

  • Walking Lunges, 50 meters. I held 8lb. weights in both hands
  • 50 situps

Looks so simple doesn’t it? That CrossFit..they’re so tricky! After my first lap of walking lunges my quads were burning! By the end, my legs were like jello. Oddly enough, my quads aren’t sore today, but my butt is! So, I guess the workout was a success!

You could make any exercises into a “CrossFit” style workout. Just pick a few “simple,” straightforward exercises like squats, pushups, or situps, and do a ton of them! ๐Ÿ™‚ My favorite is 10 reps of squats, situps, pushups, and dips- 10 times. I promise you’ll be tired after that! I especially like that routine because you can do it anywhere! If you had a bar nearby, you could also throw pull-ups in there. That is assuming you can do pull-ups, which I cannot (not without help ๐Ÿ™ ).

Have you ever tried CrossFit? What did you think? Can you do pull-ups? <—(I’ll try not to get too jealous if you can…)

50m of walking lunges! This reminds me of when one of my swim coaches used to make us “lunge around the pool” – sometimes four times in a row. That was….painful…but good for our turns.

oh man that sounds rough! its funny i remember soccer practices in high schools and volleyball practices..we used to do some hard core workouts! like running up stairs! that’s serious stuff! looking back we prob had smart coaches..i might have to incorporate some of that stuff into my workouts!

Love the jello legs feeling! I’ve never tried Crossfit (I’ll be honest even though it seems simple I always think they have to be more complicated than that!) Now I want to try a Crossfit workout.

    I can do…. 0 pull ups! ๐Ÿ™‚
