One of the options on the Nike Training app is “Get Focused.” It gives you short, 15 minute workouts that concentrate on one thing, for example, your butt or arms. Instead of doing a 30 or 45 minute circuit, I decided to pick a few workouts out of the focused category. I chose cardio and abs (I also intended on doing arms, but was too tired at the end).
The cardio burst pretty much whipped it out of me. I was tired to begin with so doing 3 rounds of jumps and other craziness was rough!

It was just one of those tough days at the gym. Some days I have tons of energy and feel great, others, I’m exhausted. It’s a struggle just to get through a workout. I also thought about running for 15 minutes but then decided maybe I’m tired for a reason, my body might just need a break.
Looking back I maybe should have had a rest day. Although I made it through the workout, it was a struggle. Going forward, whenever I feel tired I’ll take rest days, maybe active rest days? Active rest days are basically no gym days, but maybe instead go for a long walk, something not high intensity.
Do you take active rest days?

All of my rest days are active rest days 😉 I can’t stand being still!
