12 Days of (Healthy) Christmas, Day 10

admin · December 16, 2011 · 5 Comments

Well, 1 day closer to Christmas and Friday, how great is that? I’m heading home to Phoenix tomorrow and can’t wait!

I almost have all my Christmas shopping done…except not really. I have one side of the family done, so close enough right?  I did quite a bit of online shopping this year which leads me to our 10th day of (healthy) Christmas idea…

lords a leapin!

I’m not sure I understand why there were so many lord’s a leapin’ but I’ll just assume they were put through an intense obstacle course and had to be somewhere on time. Probably like the Warrior Dash?

Yep, that makes perfect sense.

Anyway….On the 10th day of Christmas you gave to yourself (and your family?)…..2 hours of shopping at the mall.

The reason I listed this is because shopping, or even just walking around for two hours, burns quite a bit of calories. I plugged my weight into a calorie calculator and it estimated  that I’d burn about 300 calories when walking for two hours. Of course, when you’re shopping you aren’t necessarily walking the entire time so give or take some calories.

I’ve been online shopping so far so I’m pretty sure I’ve probably increased my calorie intake since I sit here on the computer. But when I go home, I’m hittin’ the mall!! Beware the food court though….lots of distractions in there!

If I’m getting a shopping treat I think it’s going to have to be a Skinny Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks. I love those things and I’m so happy they came out with a lower calorie version.  By the way, I got one of these in Beaver Creek the other day (at the ski resort..go figure) and it was 6.50. I got a tall by the way.. Are they usually that expensive? Yikes. It was worth it though :).

Do you do your shopping online or head to the mall (which can be a scary place)?

Starbucks is always expensive, but in the Beaver Creek / Vail area everything is ten times more expensive. Where you at Beaver Creek during the alpine ski racing world cups?? They were just going on. My sister raced 🙂

She did well! She was racing in a World Cup, that is an accomplishment in-and-of-itself (we have to keep reminding her of that!) She is young and just getting on the circuit so it’s fun to watch her race in the big leagues! Was there snow in Vail? There is no snow anywhere? 🙁
