Workout Playlists

admin · December 13, 2011 · 6 Comments

I don’t know about you, but music can make a big impact on my workout. For example, when I’m running, I totally notice a difference between a song thats alright versus one that I love. It’s like when you’re driving a car and a song comes on that pumps you up, you might speed up. The same thing happens when I workout.

I feel like some of the songs I workout to are almost embarrassing but they get the job done!

I usually prefer pop, rap, and rock songs. All the other genres (soooo country and Jimmy Buffett?) just have no place in my workout playlist. That’s not totally true, there are a few exceptions, but for the most part, they’re out!

Ya know what’s weird about the rap? I used to listen to rap quite a bit and never minded the cussing and offensive language. But, apparently I’ve aged by like, 40 years because I can’t deal with that stuff anymore. I don’t mind cussing every so often, but some of the gross stuff? Nope, can’t do it. I buy the clean versions now :).

Here are some songs that alway get me moving!

Pop Players

  • “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”– Beyonce. There’s no way you don’t love this song still.
  • “Imma Be”- Black Eyed Peas
  • “I Gotta Feeling”- Black Eyed Peas
  • “Till the World Ends”- Britney Spears
  • “Up n’ Down”– Britney. Good one on Britney’s latest album.

  • “(I’ve Just Begun) Having My Fun”- Britney Bitch
  • “London Bridge”- Fergie
  • “The Sweet Escape”- Gwen Stefani
  • “Trust A Try”- Janet Jackson…sounds weird at first..give it a minute.
  • “Feedback”-Janet..Miss Jackson if you’re nasty.
  • “Son of a Gun”- Janet.
  • “Chop Me Up”- Justin Timberlake…or JTizzle as I call him.
  • “SexyBack”-Jtizzle. Does this song ever get old?
  • “E.T.”- Katy Perry
  • “Blow”- Kesha
  • “Rock It Rock”- Kevin Rudolf
  • “Teeth”-Lady Gaga. One of my favorites by her! Show me your teeth little monsters!!

  • “369”- Cupid
  • “Dragostea Din Tei”- O-Zone
  • “Hello”- Martin Solveig
  • “Without You”-David Guetta ft. Usher
  • “I Like the Way”- BodyRockers

Dirty Rap (I’m sure the true rap connoisseur would not qualify half of this as rap, probably pop, but it’s rap to me! P.S. I used to listen to a lot of rap.)

  • “Shoulder Lean” Young Dro
  • “How Do You Want It” Tupac
  • “Rompe” Daddy Yankee

  • “Fat Bottomed Girls”– Queen. Makes me feel good when I’m workin’ out…thinkin’ about my fat bottom.

  • “April 29, 1992 (Miami)”-Sublime. Not really a headbanger…but pretty cool..mostly because it says “Clevelaaaaaand Ohio!”
  • “Slither”- Velvet Revolver
