Yep, you read that right: antelope kebobs. Remember when I went hunting (well, I went camping, the husband went hunting) in Wyoming a couple months ago? The hubs brought back an antelope and we’re still working on it. We’re still working on the wild boar that I shot..yes, me, last year. Wild game meat is interesting and definitely fun to cook with, but it isn’t quite as versatile as say, chicken, so it takes more planning.
My husband found this great recipe for the antelope: marinated antelope and veggie kebobs. Actually, it turned out really good. The first time we tried the antelope it had a musky taste/smell which was a little..weird. But this time around, no musk was present so it was great.
It’s weird how much darker wild game meat is compared to what we’re used to seeing. Almost a purple color.
We cut up the meat then marinated it in a mix of soy sauce, honey, dried parsley, garlic salt, olive oil, and black pepper.
While the meat was marinating, I cut up lots of good veggies for the kebobs like mushrooms, peppers, onions, zucchini, and pineapple.
I love grilled pineapple, it’s so good!
Finally, we put the kebobs together then grilled them up!
So good!
This was such an easy, healthy meal I loved it! I mean, it was easy unless you add in the whole hunting aspect…then it was sort of difficult.
Dinner was served!!
Have you ever tried wild game meat? Did you like it?

Holy yum! I wish it were easier to find truly wild game meat in the grocery store. I don’t know many people that hunt. Luckyyy. 🙂

You go girl! I tried moose, venison and caribou before. I have to admit I wasn’t a huge fan of any of them, I love my chicken:)
