No workout video this week…sorry guys! I’m heading to Houston today for a wedding. Remember the Indian wedding I’ve mentioned before…? That’s the one this weekend! I finally got my outfit and am ready to go!
I have to admit, I’m really excited. I think just because I find different culture’s way of celebrating major events in their lives intriguing since I’m not exposed to it very often. This is my first Indian wedding and possibly my last so I’m excited to be a part of it. Β Here’s a peak at my outfit:
I love how colors are encouraged at these weddings instead of the standard black.
My husband’s got a pretty dashing outfit himself so we will be ready to party come tomorrow night!
In other news, my long run of 18 miles went pretty well! The weather was so beautiful (around 50) and I just felt good. Some days are better than others and I love it when the better days happen to fall on long run days…makes them so much easier.
I ran it in a little over 3 hours which is what I expected and am totally fine with that. My knee wasn’t too bad today which was a relief. It started hurting towards the end but I think that’s because…I ran 18 miles :).
One good thing about running for such a long time is refueling after the run aka stuffing my face. Today I tried some new muffin tops I spotted at the store…a VitaTop competitor!
They were slightly cheaper than VitaTop’s and Van’s usually has pretty good stuff so I gave them a go.
Obviously had to cover it in peanut butter…
I decided VitaTops are better. These weren’t bad but they were a bit dry…I’m glad I slathered some PB on top.
Apparently after the run I was craving peanut butter because I also attacked these guys:
I should never buy peanut butter Puffins. I can kill a box in 2 days….probably less if my husband’s out of town (no one around to judge me). Β Hey, at least I ran 18 miles right? π
So last thing….the title of this post can mean a lot of things. I’m looking forward to this weekend, looking forward to the marathon…but most of all, looking forward to September because…
We’re having a baby!!
I am beyond excited.
Those pictures were taken when I was 10 weeks, I’m 14 weeks now. I can’t believe it!
So, I’m sure a number of you are thinking marathon plus baby makes no sense. Well, you might be right and if you are, then the marathon will be a no go. But I’ve been communicating with my doctor about the race and have slowed down a lot, watch my heart rate, drink lots of fluids, and listen to my body.
At this point, I feel fine, but I take it day by day, run by run. If it doesn’t happen, then that’s okay. If it does, then great! The most important thing to me and my husband is the health of our baby so we’re definitely monitoring it.
Anyway, I figured it was time to share this on the blog!! Hence the real reason I gave up caffeine :).
Have a great weekend guys!!
