17 Weeks

admin · April 6, 2012 · 5 Comments

Another week of pregnancy has flown by! I swear the first trimester went super slow and now I’m almost halfway done..crazy!

Today we had a doctor’s appointment and it went great! It was just a standard checkup so nothing new. I love how now at every appointment we get to hear the baby’s heartbeat :). My husband couldn’t make it to our last appointment so today was the first time he heard the heartbeat…pretty cool!

We also scheduled our anatomy ultrasound-2 weeks from Monday! I can’t wait. For some reason I’m totally convinced it’s a boy so it would be such a shocker to find out we’re having a girl. Obviously, I don’t care either way…I just want to know!!

This week was a big week in other ways too. We both can officially feel the baby kick! I thought it would take longer but I’m sure that’s what it is. My husband can feel it too. I can’t wait until I feel that little one kicking all the time.. I love it!!

Here’s my picture for 17 weeks:

Definitely more bump!

Technically, I’m 18 weeks now so we’re a week behind…but that’s okay close enough!

How far along? 18 weeks yesterday
Total weight gain: 9 pounds!! Today we checked my weight and I gained six pounds this past month.
Maternity clothes? Not yet but this weekend I’m heading to Target for new pants. I tried to put on my jeans the other day and couldn’t get them over my butt…that’s such a good feeling ha!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Been okay. I was uncomfortable last night for some reason. I’ve also been getting a ton of heartburn at night which keeps me up. No fun.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat and feeling that little guy (or gal). I love feeling those kicks. We also scheduled our anatomy ultrasound which I am pumped for!
Miss Anything? Not really.
Movement: YEP! I always hear it feels like flutters but for me, I thought it felt more like bubbles popping. Now that we can feel it from the outside, it feels like a little nudge.
Food cravings: No cravings in particular…weird.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: Don’t know but thinkin’ boy still!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Nothing bad. I get a little sleepy and have heartburn. I also get breathless pretty easy which apparently is associated with pregnancy. That can be frustrating especially when I’m running.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Feeling more kicks from our little nugget. I also cannot wait to find out what we’re having!
Exercise:  I just added exercise to this list to let you know how things are going. This is the second to last week of marathon training so I am still running but much less. So far this week I ran 4 miles and 3 miles. I still need to run 4 more, then 8. Today I think I’m going to hit the gym and do an upper body workout. I’ll post it for those of you who are interested.
So this week was a good one!
One week from today I leave for BOSTON!! April is going to be a great month I can already tell :).
What are you looking forward to in April?

Feeling the baby kick is so very important during a pregnancy. Enjoy every little movement that little blessing makes. Its a great little reminder everything is going ok in there.
