Banana S’mores

admin · July 6, 2012 · 6 Comments

I found a genius recipe idea the other night on Pinterest: banana s’mores. I’ve been kinda into s’mores lately-I think it’s the marshmallows; I love the texture! I’ve been buying s’mores ice cream, chocolate chips and marshmallows (just eating those together haha), and I recently went to a wedding where they were roasting s’mores-it was amazing.

nom nom.

So, when I saw this fairly simple and not terribly unhealthy recipe, I had to try it!

This is so simple…all you need is a banana (or 2), some marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham crackers (or not-your choice!). You can either cook these babies on the grill or in the oven. Since we don’t have a grill regularly handy, I threw them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 7 minutes.

All you do is cut down the center of the banana then fill it with the marshmallows and chocolate chips. Place the banana on foil and wrap it up. Then, either cook it on the grill or in the oven until it’s all gooey-just a couple minutes..mmm. When it’s nice and cooked, sprinkle some graham cracker on top! That’s it-so easy I love it!! Oh, and it’s amazing.

It’s actually a great dessert because you really can’t fit too many chocolate chips or marshmallows in the banana so it’s not out of control in that department. You can also put as many as you want in the banana so you’re in control of the sweetness factor!

I will definitely be consuming this dessert on a regular basis this summer…yum.

Are you a s’mores fan? I could eat marshmallows all day long..sometimes I do.
