So, this post is kind of random but definitely useful information. At least for me who apparently hurts her neck every year around the holidays.
This happened last year: during Christmas time I basically couldn’t turn my head to one side. I had no idea how it happened and just assumed it was from working out.
Well, it happened again! I’m still assuming the same thing: workout injury. So, ya know, if you need anything diagnosed apparently I’m a doctor?
Anyway, I did fall skiing the other day. The front of my neck was hurting afterwards so I think I had some whiplash (yeah, I ate the snow hard. Head to the ground big time). So, maybe now the back of my neck is feeling the aftermath. I have no idea. I’m just going to assume it’ll go away.
Another thing I remember from last year is having a heat pad (I was at my in-laws house. They’re always prepared) and it felt so good. Unfortunately, the nearest Walmart is about 25 minutes away so I was forced to think on my feet. I knew most of these heating pads are stuffed with rice so I figured I could throw one together, no problem.
So I busted out a sock, some rice, and a rubber band.
I even used winter socks!! ‘Tis the season.
Of course, I only used brown rice. Gotta keep it healthy.
I just filled the sock as much as I could with rice but left plenty of room at the top for a rubber band.
Then I microwaved it for 1 minute and it was good to go! It worked perfectly!
I have this bad boy resting on my neck as we speak. It feels so good if you’re muscles or sore or if you have an injury (?) like me. Even if you don’t, it’s winter time….heat on any part of the body will feel great!
Happy Tuesday! By the way, it’s -10 outside here. Not cool.
