Well, Valentine’s Day was a success! I wasn’t 100% sure what to do for my husband but ultimately, I decided on doing a candy scavenger hunt.
I bought 10 boxes of candy (yea, seriously we’re stocked for life now) and wrote out either a reason why I loved him, a fond memory, or something romantic on each box. I also added a little hint to where the next box could be found. For example, a box of Hot Tamales were near the fire. I chose Hot Tamales because my husband is hot :). On the box, I hinted that he’s so hot sometimes I need to be cooled off which was a hint that the next box was in the freezer: York Peppermint Patties.
There were ten items total including his “final” gift which was a stuffed bear and 2 DVD’s: Date Night and a box set of National Lampoon’s Vacation movies…except Christmas Vacation..seriously?!
He did a pretty good job finding the candies although I’m sure my scavenger hunt was extremely easy. It is Valentine’s Day after all.
I really liked the scavenger hunt idea and (I think) my husband did too. It was a great, budget-friendly gift that still required some creativity and thought. It was fun too!
My husband got me candy (yea, he didn’t know he was about to get bombarded with candy) including Junior Mints. Not just any Junior Mint…heart shaped red Junior Mints!
Do Junior Mints make anyone else think of Seinfeld? * (For some reason, YouTube wouldn’t allow me to embed that clip so click on Seinfeld if you want a good laugh).
“Who’s gonna turn down a Junior Mint? It’s chocolate, it’s peppermint — it’s delicious!”
Anyway, he also got me an awesome Nike Plus band for running that keeps track of distance, calories, pace, etc.
I’m pretty pumped about it!
It was another great Valentine’s Day! Tomorrow we’re heading to California and I’m so excited. The warm sun is going to feel great. I know I need to bring healthy treats along for the trip….but this is all we’re stuck with now:
Serious candy overload!!
How was your Valentine’s Day?

Ok – this is the cutest idea ever! My husband LOVES candy (esp hot tamales, gummy bears, sour patch kids, etc.) and I’m totally pulling this off for my next work trip. He’ll be off to work before I leave for the airpot so I can TOTALLY surprise him when he gets home from work that night. Aww ๐
