12 Days of (Healthy) Christmas, Day 8

I made it to Phoenix. Of course, totally jinxed the whole “good weather” thing as it happens to be raining. Seriously? It rains like, 3 times a year here. Apparently only when I come in town. But, it’s still pretty nice, low 60’s so I can’t complain.

I’m heading to a Christmas party today so we’ll see if I can listen to my own advice and avoid the food (at least in the first 20 minutes-no nervous eating!). I went to one last night and food-wise was pretty good, drink-wise, I was definitely overserved…by the bartender…who was me. So, today I’ll be working on drinks too…as in not drinking too many.

Anyway, on to day 8!

On the 8th Day of Christmas you gave to yourself…..8 hours of sleep!

It’s funny how holiday’s can be stressful. They should be a time of joy and relaxation with the people you love, but can definitely become overwhelming and almost irritating. The combination of family (no offense family), spending money, and high expectations in general can cause some serious stress.

It’s important to remember that the holiday’s should be a fun, relaxing time! Getting enough sleep can really help lower your stress levels and make this time of year more enjoyable. Even if you don’t necessarily celebrate Christmas, take advantage of the holiday (as in days off work) and catch up on some sleep! Might as well!

I hope you all have a great, stress-free holiday! It can sometimes be hard, but try to keep a positive attitude-which is always easier with sleep!
