So, here at Healthy, Hungry, and Happy, I’ve decided to expand my “business” and open up an online store! It’s in the beginning stages at this point…but basically, I was thinking one day how nice it would be if you could order variety boxes of snack bars. But not just one brand, several brands so you can decide which you prefer (or just get some variety in your life!).
The wheels in my little mind started turning and I thought, “well, I could put together boxes like these!” I kinda figured if it’s something I would buy, then maybe someone else might too? That’s when my “homemade” variety boxes were born.
At some point, I would love to start making my own bars and selling those. But, my husband encouraged me to “perfect my craft” first. The last thing I’d want is to lose readers because I accidentally poisoned them. For now, I’ll offer up some of my favorite snack bars that are pretty well established (no sick readers here!).
As of now, I only have a few bars that I include in the boxes but I am definitely open to suggestions on other brands or other types of products (doesn’t have to be bars!). What would you be interested in if you were to buy a variety box? The link to the store is in the upper left hand corner next to my blog roll.
To kick things off, I’m giving away one of these boxes to a lucky reader! Each box will include:
2 Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Lara Bars– Love Lara bars! They have so many great flavors it was hard to choose one. Hopefully at some point I’ll add a couple other flavors to the mix (especially vegan flavors). This bar is NOT vegan (chocolate chips) but it is gluten free, no gmo’s are used, and it’s kosher. Although Lara bars tend to be higher in calories, I like them because they’re made from whole foods. The ingredient lists are always short. The ingredients in this particular bar are: dates, chocolate chips (fair trade chocolate), cashews, and salt. If you win this box and are vegan (or want to purchase one through my store), I can replace the Lara bar with something else!
2 Barney Butter Almond Butter-Everyone loves a little Almond butter in their life. It can be tough though finding the one you like best since they are pretty pricey. That’s why I like these little trial sizes: they’re only 90 calories and an easy way for people to try out Barney Butter. I think it’s great and I hope you agree! This is also gluten free and peanut free.
2 Cranberry Almond Kind Plus Bars- I love these! They have little pieces of puffed rice in them which gives it great texture! For the most part, they use simple ingredients. There are just a few non-whole foods listed on the packaging but overall they score pretty high on the health meter. They’re also vegan, gluten free, use no GMO’s and are a little lower in calories than Lara bars (190 versus 220).
2 Apple Cinnamon Pure Organic bars– Pure bars remind me a lot of Lara bars. They have a little more ingredients, but overall have a very similar texture and taste. They’re gluten free, organic, raw and vegan! Quite the bar!
3 Raw Rev by Raw Revolution– I liked these little bars because a.) they came in a variety pack and b.) they’re smaller than the normal sized bars so you can try several flavors! These bars are also similar to the Pure and Lara bars. They’re raw, organic, and vegan. I’ve tried all the flavors and think they’re all good. I was a little skeptical about the spirulina flavor…but it tastes great! My only complaint about these bars is that they can be a little oily. They’re very healthy though: a perfect little snack!
The box will have a total of 11 items.
